ROANOKE- Bob McDonnell, Republican gubernatorial nominee and former Attorney General of Virginia, will follow tonight’s last gubernatorial debate with a “New Jobs, New Virginia” tour taking him to four small businesses in four regions of Virginia over the next four days. McDonnell will meet with business owners, learn about the challenges they face in this tough economy, and discuss his innovative plans to bring new jobs to every part of Virginia over the next four years.
Speaking about the launch of the “New Jobs, New Virginia” tour McDonnell noted, “Our positive, forward-looking campaign has had one focus from day one: promoting policies to bring new jobs and more opportunities to every region of Virginia. We have rolled out comprehensive, innovative plans all designed to help turn our economy around and get those new jobs into our communities. Our positive ideas and commitment to keeping taxes low, getting spending under control, and keeping regulations and litigation to a minimum have led to endorsements from every major business group in the state. On this tour I look forward to continuing to learn from our small business owners, the men and women who truly drive our economy. I want to continue to hear what they need from Richmond, what they want to see happen over the next four years in state government, and how we can work together to help them create the new jobs and opportunities we need all across Virginia.”
In endorsing McDonnell last week The Arlington Sun-Gazette wrote: “....there is one candidate who has given thought about how he plans to lead the Old Dominion out of current economic conditions. Robert McDonnell.”
The Daily Press noted, “McDonnell will bring executive experience in business and the military and management experience in state government, gained as attorney general.
And the News and Messenger in Northern Virginia wrote: “McDonnell has plans to grow the economy and bring jobs by making Virginia an easier place for people to establish businesses.”
