McDonnell Announces Fairfax County Leadership Team
Team Formed by Local Elected Officials and Community Leaders
BURKE- Bob McDonnell, Republican gubernatorial nominee and former Attorney General of Virginia, announced today the formation of his Fairfax County leadership team. The announcement was made this morning at the Fairfax County GOP Pep Rally and Breakfast at the Burke Firehouse. The leadership team is made up of local elected officials, community leaders and activists who are instrumental in organizing community events and carrying Bob McDonnell’s positive, forward-looking message to voters throughout Fairfax County. McDonnell has been endorsed by both the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Virginia Technology Council. McDonnell grew up in the Mount Vernon section of Fairfax County.
Speaking about the formation of his leadership team, McDonnell remarked “Maureen and I both grew up in Fairfax County. Virginia’s most populous locality is a diverse, growing, and vital part of our Commonwealth. And it is of vital importance to our campaign. Voters in Fairfax, just like voters all over the state, are looking for a candidate with bold ideas for the future. Ideas to help create new jobs, get our economy back on track, get traffic moving again and improve our schools. That is the kind of campaign we are running. Our forward-looking campaign has earned us the endorsements of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Virginia Technology Council. Now we will continue to take our positive message to every voter in the county. We will let them know about our comprehensive transportation plan, the only transportation plan in this race. Our commitment to making Virginia the best state in which to open a small business. Our bold vision to reform and improve education in Virginia by making our colleges and universities more affordable and accessible, and putting nearly half a billion dollars more every year into our classrooms. As governor I will ensure that Fairfax County remains an engine of our economy and a great place to live and work .
