McDonnell Airs New Ad: “$300 Million”

Richmond- Bob McDonnell, Republican gubernatorial candidate and former Attorney General of Virginia, is expanding his general election television advertising today.  McDonnell’s latest ad, “$300 Million,” highlights that he saved consumers $300 million in energy rate increases while Attorney General while his opponent, Creigh Deeds, supports job killing federal cap and trade legislation.

”$300 Million” will begin airing today in the Tri-Cities/Roanoke markets.

In “$300 Million” Bob McDonnell says:

I’m Bob McDonnell, candidate for governor, and my campaign sponsored this ad.

Creigh Deeds’ attack on Bob McDonnell: false.  The State Corporation Commission, not the Attorney General, approves utility rate increases, a system Deeds himself voted to establish.  State records show Bob McDonnell saved consumers $300 million in rate increases.  Now Deeds supports Washington’s mandatory cap and trade energy scheme that will dramatically increase electricity rates for families and kill 56,000 coal and manufacturing jobs.  Creigh Deeds: job killing policies.
