Associated Builders and Contractors Endorse Bob McDonnell for Governor

RICHMOND- Bob McDonnell, Republican gubernatorial nominee and former Attorney General of Virginia, received yet another major endorsement in the 2009 race for governor today. The Virginia Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors, representing more than 600 construction and construction-related companies across the Commonwealth, announced their endorsement of McDonnell’s candidacy.  In just the last week McDonnell has received endorsements from the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking about the endorsement Pat Dean, President of ABC-VA said, “Bob McDonnell is a proven leader with a record of protecting the free enterprise system.  Bob has effectively shown that he is committed to protecting Virginia’s six-decade-old right-to-work law to ensure that the Commonwealth remains competitive. He is the candidate best prepared to get our economy back on track and help Virginia’s business owners create great jobs statewide.”

Bob McDonnell remarked, “I am honored to have received the endorsement of men and women who literally build Virginia. This election is about jobs and the economy. The Associated Builders and Contractors are on the front lines of these issues, creating good jobs and putting in place the infrastructure that is crucial to growing our economy in the years ahead. I will be a jobs governor. I will be committed to putting in place the policies that will help our entrepreneurs, job creators and business owners to hire new workers, get projects underway, and provide the great opportunities we need all across Virginia.”
