Happy Easter, Happy Passover
Maureen and I wish to extend our warmest greetings to the many Virginians who are celebrating Easter and Passover this weekend.
At the heart of each holiday, we find the power of sacrificial love, the strength of forgiveness, and the promise of freedom and new life.
We are fortunate to be spending this Easter as a family with our five children. We are grateful that they are all safe and healthy this year in Virginia. Five years ago, this day was bittersweet as we spent it without our oldest daughter, Jeanine who was serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in Iraq.
Her service then and the sacrifice of all of our men and women in uniform now are at the forefront of our minds each holiday.
The Scriptures tell us that “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” That verse is especially meaningful today as all Christians honor Jesus’ death and celebrate His resurrection.
Best wishes for a restful day with time to reflect and renew faith.
