Sounds as though the Northern Virginia media is going to do what it can to prop Deeds up. Looking forward to the debate so the issues that Northern VIrginians say are important (taxes and the economy) can be discussed.
I love how dynamic this debate is. Also, both candidates skirt sround the questions alot. Political strategy, I know, but at least they’re not afraid to confront each other, head on, even leaving political correctness behind in some cases. Good debate so far!
Listening to the debate, Bob McDonnell concentrated on getting VA on track to improve economy, by reducing business regulations, keeping Right to Work (Unions out), reducing taxes by increasing private industry income. His endorsements by VA Farm Bureau, VA Credit Unions, National Federation of Independent Businesses & VA Realtors proves his committment to small and private business.
His ideas on energy, offshore drilling, nuclear energy, and clean coal technology compared to Mr. Deeds increasing taxes to cover transportation costs are realistic. Washington Posts article today that AFL-CIO, SEIU, Teamsters labor unions endorsement of Mr. Deeds shows he does not support VA business! He will turn us into another Michigan. With the help of the unions, Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the country, in some areas 30%.
Mr. McDonnell’s background as Hospital Service Officer in Army and Hospital Mgmt for Fortune 500 company makes him
understand the problems of health care dispensing. McDonnell is concerned with the $900B bill NHC will cost. We have borrowed $800Billion from China and they plan to stop.
Gold is up past $1000 an ounce which means the US$ is weakening. I support Bob McDonnell for VA Governor. He
is our hope for the future of Virginia.
