Bob McDonnell is the blueprint for every wannabe governor and Congressman/senator/state lawmaker standing for limited government, low taxes and the traditional American family. The ringing endorsement of the Richmond Times-Dispatch (and to a lesser extent the other papers), the enthusiastic nod of BET’s Sheila Johnson, and McDonnell’s solid pro-family, pro-business positions and record are very much Reaganesque and hot ticket items to woo former Republicans like me (currently a Constitution Party supporter) back to the fold. There’s only one reason I can’t vote for Bob next week. I don’t live in Virginia. I live in Indiana. But I know a couple Virginians and they will hear from me as I insist they vote for Bob on November 3rd. Defeating his Democratic opponent will be one of the first good “Deeds” (if you will) he will have done for the state of Virginia. And after he wins, let’s see if we can clone him for the rest of the country. Go, Bob, go! God bless you and your family.
Even though I live in California I have followed this gubernatorial race very closely. I think it the big chance for the Republican Party to make the beginning of its comeback felt in your state of Virginia. I was able to make a moderate donation to Bob and hope thousands of others have done the same. I have sent for literature about the man and am even more impressed now than I was before. Here’s to Bob McDonnell winning a big victory next Tuesday. Needless to say he is far and away the best man for the job.
Posted a piece on my blog tonight on Virginia’s pending governor and BET’s Sheila Johnson’s support of Bob - http://thatsafact.wordpress.com/2009/10/26/a-black-democrat-supporting-a-white-republican-you-b-e-t/. GOP officials would be wise to only support candidates who share Mr. McDonnell’s principled convictions and finally divest themselves of those who won’t or don’t (the two Maine senators come to mind).
