Creigh Deeds is a liar, a deceiver, and should not be our next governor.

Bob,
I agree that I do not want Creigh Deeds as my next Governor and that he talks out of both sides of his face. I also understand that you all felt that you needed to counter Creigh Deeds constant negative ads by going after him a bit. The only thing that I would say is that your positive ads were more encouraging of our votes for you than the negative ads have been against Creigh Deeds. I would steer away from anything that does not clearly check out on Fact Check because this makes candidates look bad and look like liars. Our local news here in Roanoke is constantly doing fact checks on ads. The interview with reporters where Deeds said no taxes and then said raise funds from other sources that looked at “all options on the table” including raising taxes. Tapes of him just talking like a tax and spend democrat and double talk are good enough and statements from Fact Check sources are good, but always end on a positive note about what you really plan to do to stimulate our local economies and bring good environmentally friendly jobs to Virginia without “giving away the farm” would be the best commercials. Be more positive than negative. The attacks ads really turn people off.
Thanks,
Looking, hoping and praying for big wins for conservative family values Republicans this November.

I agree with Wesley. I think a contrasting view ad would do the same trick of exposing negative aspects of Deed’s proposals while still giving a positive spin. Easy to do a side-by-side comparison in a few video shots. Would have been more effective to say “Deed’s will raise money for transportation by raising taxes $7800 over 4 years for Virginia families.” Side-by-side could have said “McDonnell will use xyz strategies to raise money for transportation, none of which will raise taxes on any Virginia families.” Just as effective without the negativity. Don’t stoop to Deed’s level even though the temptation to smack him silly must be intense. I think the one thing conservatives should show they have in spades is class and dignity.

Good comments Tristan. I knew sooner or later Creigh Deeds would bring Mark Warner on board for some advertising spots. Mark Warner is a popular figure even though he has many of the tax and spend mentality of most liberals who believe that if you just throw enough money at a problem it will fix itself. It frustrates me no end to see the recent publicity given to school violence due to the beating death of this sharp young man in Chicago. The reason it is so frustrating is because one of the key guys who was in that Chicago School system is now part of the Obama Administration. The poured a bunch of money in that school system before and they just authorized more money be thrown at the problem, but still have not pointed out the obvious facts. In their address to the issue they even said that they want to bring in help from the “faith based” organizations to help solve this problem. Wow, we tell people that mankind is just a “step up” in the evolutionary chain, we can pick and choose to kill our off-spring in the womb, we take prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Ten Commandments out of the public school classrooms ... AND then we wonder why violent crimes are rising in our school systems? I had a school teacher that would ask, “Students, what do we learn from history? Then she would say, we learn nothing from history sadly enough.” She was right. Look at the historical statistics of violent crimes in the school system and look at the overlay of related Supreme Court decisions. Throwing money is not the answer. Managing the money that we have already thrown and going back to things that worked is better than the supposed “progress(?)” of this new open thinking generation. Truth hurts, but it is truth that we need and not more rhetoric of nonsense or offers to throw more money at something that has become a hopeless mess. Listen to those kids in Chicago in the interviews, they express no hope. They expect to be hurt by violence one day and only wonder if today they will be hurt or killed. Wow, what a school system and now one of hose “leaders” is in Washington.
I'm pleased to endorse @PatMcCroryNC for North Carolina governor today in Charlotte http://t.co/X7E9v2AH
