Seriously ...we need school choice with tax vouchers for ALL Virginians. The public schools ,like the government ,are a failure and need to be challenged from the private sector schools. WE need to level the playing fiald and be allowed the freedom to take complete control of our own childrens education and keep governments out of it PERIOD.Vouchers can do this.
Choice is important - but we can’t abandon our public schools. We should focus on improving them so that people want to choose them over other options.
Yes, Choice is important but we need to focus on keeping Kids in school also and not forcing them into GED programs. Do away with the different diplomas. No more allowing kids parents to Drop them out. Instead of more private prep schools we need private and public special ed schools. Lets also do away with SOLS until the student is a senior as a tool to graduate.
Please take the Charter school approval away from local school boards, give us some independence to do what is necessary to improve education without being hamstrung by
self-serving local school boards.
For information why American schools are failing read:

Parents have the choice now to send their children to private and prep schools. So be it. But to funnel public/taxpaying dollars to charter schools that could be used for public schools is not the answer to improving education. We must focus on improving public schools, hold schools and students to accountability, and prepare EVERY child to be successful.
