Growing Support for ABC Privatization
Governor McDonnell’s plan to put half a billion dollars into transportation - without a tax increase - by privatizing Virginia’s ABC stores is picking up strong support!
In the past few days:
- Former Governor Doug Wilder (D) endorsed the plan;
- Former Governor George Allen endorsed the plan;
- Americans for Tax Reform declared its support for the effort;
- A poll conducted last week found that Virginians overwhelmingly favor privatizing ABC;
- And the governor’s plan passed its first test with a strong “yes” vote from the Government Reform Commission subcommittee considering the proposal—and today the full Committee votes;
