With the campaign set to officially kick-off at the end of March, we thought it would be beneficial to our supporters to provide a more detailed look at one of the “Bloggers for McDonnell.” This week’s Blogger Highlight takes a closer look at one of the very first bloggers for the McDonnell campaign, Mason Conservative.
Started in 2005 by Fairfax resident Chris Beer, Chris felt he could bring something to the conservative cause by starting up Mason Conservative. Born on the same day the great statesmen Ronald Reagan was sworn into office, Chris hopes to use his blog as a way to push the conservative agenda here in Virginia, and assist the GOP in the 21st century.

Here’s how the game works. Once the brackets are announced Bob will make his selections. If your online bracket accumulates more points than his, you can either have dinner with Bob or play in a 3-on-3 game with him and his twin boys, Bobby and Sean.

Bob recently attended an “Asian Americans for McDonnell” gathering covered by SBTN, a national Vietnamese television station distributed nationwide through DISH and local cable providers. Bob spoke on issues such as trade with East Asia, educational issues, and the ability to work with the other side of the aisle.
Many leaders from the Asian community were present at the gathering and came away with a favorable opinion of Bob.

In an article published yesterday in the Fairfax Times, Bob discusses the dog fight that is to be the 2009 Virginia governor’s race. In the article, Bob states “My race will be about transportation and education, higher education and jobs and economic growth.”
The article also sheds light on the notion that history favors the McDonnell camp. Since 1976, the party that won the White House has lost the Virginia governor’s race the following year.

Rapp/GOP, an organization of conservative citizens of the Rappahannock Region of Virginia, has just announced its endorsement of Bob McDonnell.

Bearing Drift has written an excellent article detailing GOP candidate for Governor Bob McDonnell’s challenge to his Democratic opponents to support off-shore exploration for energy sources. As many of you know, Gov. Timothy Kaine has repeatedly delayed the sale of a lease allowing for exploration off the coast of Virginia. This lease would not only create thousands of jobs for the state, it would bring some much needed revenue.
